Executive Programmes from Focus for Change

Executives today have ever-increasing demands on their diary and planning for their own retirement takes a low priority. They no longer enjoy the luxury of winding-down and find it difficult to justify taking two or three days out of the office to attend a course. Yet retirement brings with it a loss of identity and status; it is the biggest change likely to be faced, impacting on relationships and lifestyles.

Hitherto working lives have been structured to realise ambitions and progress careers along pre-ordained lines; a series of challenges and achievements. Today trends in longevity promise as long in retirement as in employment. Faced with up to thirty years of active life - too long for golf, gardening and that long-haul holiday - it is essential to review, establish and control what the retiree with spouse/partner - or increasingly the single person - wants from this most potentially rewarding next phase.

Focus for Change has considerable experience of running retirement courses for blue-chip companies. This has enabled us to focus clearly on the important issues addressing the particular needs of senior management. We have developed a series of open programmes which address the concerns of management facing major change:

Opportunity and Choice

A one-day seminar which focuses clearly on the important issues, addressing the particular needs of senior management and their partners, gathering them into a comprehensive programme.

We have selected Westwood Park, a tastefully restored Jacobean country mansion near

Westwood Park, Essex
Colchester, Essex, as providing the right ambience to support this unique programme.

As a more central location, particularly favoured by London-based clients, we offer this seminar at the Institute of Directors at 116 Pall Mall.

Presentation, appropriate course material and mixing with senior executives from other companies combine to ensure the special concerns at this level are fully addressed.

Where open seminar dates are not convenient, half-day workshops are arranged at  Westwood Park and other prestige locations. The comprehensive programme, whilst addressing the issues underlying change, is specifically developed around the particular concerns of delegate and partner. The fee of £450 excludes VAT but includes all course materials, delegate notes, lunch and refreshments.

The Executive Focus

Focus for Change offer a range of services developed specifically for the management team.

In today's commercial climate with increasing globalisation, executive responsibilities are greater. The balance between office and home may need to be adjusted. Reaching career peak executives feel the need to stand back and consider how they might use their expertise and experience to establish new objectives which support a more balanced lifestyle. A seminar which brings into focus personal development, new directions, consultancy and a range of forward planning issues.

Executive Focus - An interactive workshop providing an opportunity to review with other members of the executive team issues of leadership and achieving greater efficiency in a culture of change.

Aspects of Change - A seminar for senior management facing redundancy. A programme that puts change into perspective and reviews choice whether it be a career move, consultancy, interim management or early retirement. The workshops includes CV development, interview technique tapping into the unadvertised market and the senior network;  developing job search strategies.

Consultancy - At a time of change executives often find consultancy an attractive option. But developing a small business without the day-to-day support of a large organisation demands commitment, flexibility and self sufficiency. A practical seminar which looks at all aspects of working for yourself to help executives identify whether this route is really an option.

Counselling - One-to-one executive counselling and mentoring support.

Focus for Change, with considerable experience of running senior programmes for blue-chip companies and the public sector develop workshops and seminars to specifically address the corporate requirement.
